adult mental health

program overview

The Mental Health Team provides a range of services to enrolled patients of the North Simcoe Family Health Team physicians and nurse practitioners. Mental Health Counsellors provide an assessment, and together with the client, develop goals to help individuals and families deal with issues such as:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Grief and loss
  • Relationship issues
  • Mood changes after baby

Our Mental Health Counsellors are registered social workers who will work with you in a short-term, focused, and confidential manner to find solutions. Most people work with their counsellor for approximately 4-6 sessions. We work collaboratively with your physician and/or nurse practitioner to provide care and meet your needs.

Dependent on the needs of the patient, a referral to community services or a psychiatric consultation may be facilitated.

Our services include:

  • Individual counselling
  • Referral to psychiatric consultation
  • Connections to community resources
  • Group services
